KENNEDY KIDS is a Response to Intervention program. Members participate in a rigorous process to become a part of it. As a result, the students who are KENNEDY KIDS are peer instructors who have demonstrated excellence in Mathematics and have shown they can help others understand math.
To be a KENNEDY KID, one must:
* Be a TMS 6th, 7th or 8th grader.
* Demonstrate excellence in Mathematics either through CRCT scores, AimsWeb scores, and or
report card(s).
* Get a letter of recommendation from his/her Math teacher.
* Have All As and or Bs & have good behavior across the board.
* Understand s/he represents Turner and is supporting Turner Middle School vision of
academic success.
* Embody patience, maturity and discretion.
BENEFITS OF BEING A KENNEDY KID:
* Earn volunteer hours
* Get a letter of recommendation
* Deepen your understanding of mathematics
* End of year field trip/activity
* Satisfaction of helping others
